Understanding Bed Cover Types
There are different types of bed covers that serve their purpose but also complement the look of your room:
Quilts and Comforters
Thicker, fluffier, and more suitable for colder times of year, quilts and comforters offer great warmth while making a strong style statement. There are modern designs that are as simple as solid colors or it could be made into an intricate pattern that becomes a statement piece in your bedroom decoration.
Duvet Covers
These removable covers shield your duvet insert and provide amazing versatility. Just by switching your duvet cover, you can change the way your bedroom looks without having to pay for an entirely new bedding set. (Most duvet covers have convenient closures, like buttons, zippers or ties.)
Bedspreads
Thinner and less warm than comforters, bedspreads are spread out over the entire bed, including the pillows, and fall almost to the floor. They’re great for warmer climates or as an extra element of decoration.
Coverlets
These light, decorative bed coverings usually fall just below the mattress on the sides. Coverlets function just as well as a stand-alone cover in the warmer months, or as an extra layer under your comforter in the winter.
Difference in Single Bed Cover and Double Bed Cover
It’s important to know the difference between single and double bed covers to make the right purchase:
Size Dimensions
Single Bed Covers: Standard dimensions are 60-66 inches in width and 90-100 inches in length. Suitable for twin/single mattresses.
Double Bed Covers — Normally fabricates around 80-90 inches long and 90-100 inches wide, suitable and crafted for standard double or full mattresses.
